A Festive Yogurt Parfait Trio

Grab some plain Greek yogurt, a few tasty staples, and whip up this simple trio with ease.

3 Simple Parfaits

Greek yogurt is a great way to fuel up with some protein while adding a probiotic benefit to serve your gut health. And when you flavor them up like these, it’s like eating dessert! Although these are perfect for a breakfast option or individually as snacks.

Note: If you didn’t know, almonds are a neutral food. So, when combining almonds with acidic fruits such as berries — you’ll be neutralizing the acidity (this is a GERD-Maintenance option — NOT for the Healing GERD Phase).

What You’ll Need:

  • low-fat, plain Greek yogurt
  • pumpkin puree (canned pumpkin 100% pumpkin)
  • date paste (dates & water blend)
  • cinnamon
  • all spice
  • hemp seeds
  • protein powder
  • vanilla
  • chopped dates
  • apple slices
  • berries
  • almonds

Enjoy the variety of fruit, nuts, and spices with this festive yogurt trio. The three simple recipes are below. 

1. Pumpkin Spiced Purée

1/4 cup pumpkin purée
1/4 cup date paste*
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp all spice
1/2 cup plain, lowfat Greek yogurt
Garnish: pumpkin seeds
 
Blend pumpkin, date paste, cinnamon, and all spice. Swirl into a ramekin with the yogurt. Garnish with pumpkin seeds.
 
*To make date paste: Blend 10 small pitted dates with 1/3 cup of water until smooth. Optional — add in a few shakes of cinnamon. Place in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use. It will thicken up overtime.

2. Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Parfait

Hemp cinnamon blend:
  • 3 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp protein powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 date paste
1/2 cup plain, lowfat Greek yogurt
apple slices (1 small apple)
 
Blend date paste with yogurt. Garnish with cinnamon hemp blend. Then add in a fan of apple slices.

3. Merry Berry Parfait

1/2 cup low-fat, plain Greek yogurt
Optional: 1/4 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp each: raspberries, blueberries, strawberry slices
1-2 tbsp almond slices
 
Blend vanilla with Greek yogurt (if using). Top with berries. Garnish with sliced almonds.
