About

When you find your voice, it is quite powerful. A deep focus and passion can really drive your purpose in life. And that is what I discovered even years after being a registered dietitian. I thought I had found my calling, but it wasn’t until I experienced a personal health issue that my true passion was unveiled.

I am a Los Angeles based registered dietitian and yoga teacher with a passion for helping those with GERD, LPR, and Acid Reflux. I teach my clients how to heal and enjoy a healthy lifestyle with a focus on nutrition, mindfulness, and exercise. I am also a mom to twin girls who, like me, love to cook and spend time in the kitchen.

I have received my Master’s in Nutritional Sciences from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). And I am an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Food and Culinary Professionals dietetic practice group.

A Personal Health Challenge That Changed my Focus

Since 2008, I’ve helped thousands of individuals reach their health goals. I developed a private practice to focus on family nutrition since I had two kids of my own. I’ve not only worked with individual goals but have implemented strategies to keep the whole family involved. I also successfully helped several individuals meet their goals of lowering cholesterol, improving blood sugars, and reducing their blood pressure — sadly, a common issue many Americans face.

But it wasn’t until 2017 that I changed my focus due to a health scare of my own. I was diagnosed with an extreme case of GERD. As a person who has always put health as a #1 priority, experiencing this health crisis took me by surprise. It took a while to pinpoint exactly what worked for me to heal for my GERD symptoms to go away. Through this personal experience, I developed a healing protocol and maintenance plant to manage GERD.

I’ve been in your shoes and truly understand what you are going through. I am overjoyed to be able to share my Healing GERD Protocol with you for a happier, healthier you.

Registered Dietitian

I graduated from CSULA with a Master’s in Nutritional Science in June 2007 and shortly after that, I earned my credential as a registered dietitian. While individualized nutrition counseling has been a mainstay for me over the years, my role in the field of dietetics has expanded to writing and recipe development.

Certified Yoga Instructor

Yoga is a form of movement that keeps the body physically active, provides digestive benefits, flexibility, and helps to manage stress. Movement allows for a natural flow of life because it integrates body, mind, and spirit. It is beneficial to our health and wellbeing. My training includes 200 hours of education via Yoga Angels International. Adopting yoga into my lifestyle has helped me mentally address my anxiety and stress. While pursuing my Master’s in Nutrition, I gained a deeper understanding of how the body operates from a cellular (and microcellular) level to how we ultimately feel, operate, and function.

Author & Recipe Developer

Recipe development and writing are two great passions of mine. And I have enjoyed sharing my love for all things culinary and health through various media outlets. I have appeared as a credentialed health and nutrition expert for many national media television outlets, as well as digital, print, and radio media stations.

I have contributed to many national publications including Food & Nutrition magazine, Shape, Redbook, Livestrong, WellSeek, and DietsinReview. I am also the author of several healthy-living cookbooks.
