Enjoy a Sweet Treat (without reflux)

Here’s how to make a GERD-friendly Halloween-inspired treat

You are going to need two simple ingredients: Small, pitted dates and a some Wonderful Pistachios. Dates add an intense natural sweetness (so you don’t need that much) and those Wonderful pistachios are not only deliciously green, they contain 6 grams of protein per 1-ounce serving, fueling your body with essential amino acids. And the combo of the two is delish. Below are two fun ways to enjoy the simple combo for Halloween!:

1) Check out my Date Pistachio Bear Claw, made frighteningly simple by pinching 3 dates together and adding pistachios for the green nails.

2) And it wouldn’t feel like a treat without a sweet pop. My Date Pistachio Dusted pop is as simple as it sounds. Secure a date onto a popsicle stick and roll it around in finely ground pistachio. For a sweeter version, melt some Carob chips (they’re a great caffeine-free alternative to chocolate), then using the popsicle stick as your handle, swirl your date in the sweet carob syrup and roll into crushed pistachios.
