Duverger Macarons: A Scrumptuous Review

I am pleased to partner with Duvergers Macarons to bring you this scrumptious review. Samples were provided (and greatly welcomed). Opinions are my own. (#ad)

I can remember the first time I had a macaron. I was in an elegant patisserie in downtown LA. Pristine glass cases were filled with rows and layers of cream puffs, croissants, chocolates and candies galore. Perfectly shaped confessions, plated to perfection and packaged like Tiffany’s (except the boxes were pink with gold trim, not the signature blue).

I was drawn to the rainbow palate of macarons! While I’m no macaron connoisseur, I found the colorful treat a departure from most confections I’ve enjoyed – from selecting that perfect pastel to sinking my teeth into that first bite of bliss.

Receiving the lovey package of these Duverger Macarons brought back such memories. I opened the elegant white windowed box to unveil an assortment of tantalizing colors and flavors.

My first thought – the chocolate one with the nibs, but was quickly drawn to the lavender dusted macaron that met all my expectations and more. The delicate outer crust was pristinely divine – sandwiching a moist crumb and cream — a flavorfully sweet combo of bliss.

Sampling Bliss

My kids were delighted to open the package. Like the joy of a See’s candy box, my kids were in heaven. It would be hard to choose just one (and which one?). Oh my! So many goodies to choose from.

Call us all foodies. My kids get this from me and my hubby. We love a pure flavor and traditional pairing but also have a desire for the umami-fied eat. By this, I mean we love an explosion of flavor infused from synergistic ingredients bringing out sweet, tangy, earthy and more!

My lavender treat was just that — a sweet “umami-fied” heaven. And while I cannot pinpoint exact flavors beyond the lavender and sweet tangy yum, my mouth felt that wonderful fusion of taste and texture. And we were delighted it was not cloyingly sweet nor sticky inside.

Great Expectations

While Duverger macarons met every expectation and more, I only have one little request (well make that 2, another box would be greatly welcomed). And it was my kids who started namely each one with their own interpretation of color and flavor. But they were really hoping to know beyond the look and their taste perception the key ingredients of each scrumptuous treat.

I’d recommend a flavor chart for these delicate, scrumptious treats – perhaps elegantly scripted on the side or bottom of its package. In any case, my family and I loved these and can’t wait to enjoy them again.
