Creamy Dijon Turmeric Dressing — A Delicious, Gut-Healthy Blend

This creamy turmeric dressing will add a delightful tang to your salads. And even better it’s got turmeric! Seasoned with black pepper to release turmerics anti-inflammatory potential, you’ve got a gut-healthy salad because it also includes yogurt (probiotics) and raw garlic (prebiotics) as well!

I love the benefit of turmeric but it’s not something you just eat right out the the jar. So I’ve enjoyed turmeric teas and making Goldyn Lattes from Goldyn Glow’s Turmeric Superfood Blends (delicious) and have used the spice to season my foods and in this case my salad dressing. 5 simple ingredients include plain yogurt, garlic (a whole clove), dijon, turmeric and black pepper – that’s it. Okay – I added a bit of honey, too. (So 6 ingredients). So without further ado, here’s the simple recipe:

Creamy Dijon Turmeric Dressing

Creamy Dijon Turmeric Dressing

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 1 /2 cup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt*
  • 1 Tablespoon grapeseed oil
  • 1 medium clove garlic
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon honey to taste

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients into high speed blender and process until smooth.

Notes

*I like to use whole milk yogurt because it's creamier, richer and contains no artificial ingredients or fillers.

And voila! Here’s a simple salad I just tossed together with sliced beets, a bit of goat cheese, cucumbers and mushrooms and of course the deliciously tangy Creamy Dijon Turmeric Dressing. Just look at the pretty yellow hue and how well it holds up (doesn’t separate). It’s got the tang of dijon and a delightful bite from the raw garlic, which is a prebiotic source. If you haven’t read my 5 Ingredient Granola post, check it out for a simple DIY snack that contains prebiotics as well (and a brief explanation on how it helps to promote a healthy gut).

Enjoy!
