Tasty Treats don’t have to be saturated in fats or laden with sugars. In fact some can be as simple as just 3-ingredients you might all ready have in your cupboard.
Okay, these aren’t your typical sugar-laden Rice Krispy Treats. And to be honest, they don’t contain Rice Krispies. BUT with a similar look and texture, they are also just as tasty. And they’ve got healthy plant-based nutrients from nuts and Kamut, a whole grain similar to wheat.
Nutrient Dense Ingredients
Peanut butter, all natural — just peanuts and salt! Peanuts are a healthy fat. They also contain important nutrients, including vitamin E, Magnesium and Folate.
Kamut is a whole grain, similar to wheat. Kamut contains folate and other B-vitamins which are essential to heart health. It is also a good source of fiber. It’s a great alternative to typical cereals containing rice or corn.
A Tasty Combo
Peanut butter (all natural, just nuts & salt) with honey make a delightful combo. I like to use Laura Scudders brand peanut butter. Kamut Puffs, like rice krispies, are a great medium for mixing up a crunchy treat.
If you don’t have Kamut puffs, Rice Krispies will do. But you may just find after sampling it’s delicate puff, that these may become one of your alternative staple pantry items.
